Hello all. I am wondering if anyone can tell me what this coin is, it's grade (in your opinion), and what it might be worth monetarialy?

Any and all responses are really appreciated!:thumb: Adam Mickliewicz - Obverse01.jpg Adam Mickliewicz - Reverse01.jpg

"PROBA" means "sample" in polish. The literal translation is "an attempt". I've seen similar coins of that series but have never seen that coin. That is all I know, sorry I couldn't help more. Perhaps you have a unique coin.

Thanks COINnoisseur.....it's a start! Would be cool if it was unique.

A more correct English translation of PROBA would be "pattern".

The coin is not unique, with a mintage of 3,100 pieces.

See this link for more information.

It is listed as worth $100 in Krause, but take that with a grain of salt, as Krause can be both overly optimistic for some issues, and overly pessimistic for others.

I found three on eBay with the lowest being $20 and the highest being $35. And this is how much they sold for not the listing price.

    Hope this helps,
    Jesse

New question about this coin....I am looking into getting Air Tite Coin Holders for some of my coins and am wondering what diameter / size holder I should get for this one?

    Any advise is much appreciated....Thanks!

I'm considering sending this off to NGC to have it graded. Worth it?

I'm just a newbie, but if it's only selling for $20-$35 on eBay, then won't it cost at least that much to have it graded?

It's not valuable enough to justify the expense of getting it slabbed.

The diameter of the coin is 32mm.
