It is worth that much in my reasoning. Carry it in your pocket ( without metal objects) for a year or so, and a cleaned AU can become a regular EF if the cleaning is not relatively deep cuts. Still said, a photo is needed unless you trust he would tell you if the effects were severe.
Thank you all for sharing. It is very much appreciated. Also apologies for starting a bit of an argument on my first thread. That was not my intension.
It wasn't really an argument so no apologies are needed. One of the best things about this site is almost everyone is very friendly and want to help people like yourself who have legitimate questions. However, the community gets frustrated when a newcomer is then given bad advice from people who would be better served being quiet.
Yeah $50 is a fair price. These coins (and 1928's for that matter) have been becoming cheaper lately and I have been selling them wholesale in VF-XF in the $65-$75 range... The sheets are WAY too high on these coins. As far as the 1928's... I had the opportunity to purchase a 20 coin roll of 1928 peace dollars last week from VG-XF for $200 a coin from a dealer....
Geoff, I believe that we should add #3: They are trying to portray themselves as being something they are not. This (IMO) is almost surely the case with the OP. I agree with Blaubart that what he is doing is bordering on dangerous and it needs to stop (or be stopped). Even if his intentions were good, he needs to understand that the results could very well cause much more damage than childish games are worth. You have no reason to apologize, sir. In no way did you or your question cause a problem.
Heh it's funny. I had originally written there were three reasons and then couldn't think of the third. But yes, whichever of the three it is, the advice giving from said member should still stop.
I suggest you learn to ignore the replies from xGAJx since they are not generally helpful. If it's already cleaned, as stated in the title, then I would advise not to buy it as these are common as dirt.
