This latest aquisition is part of my plan to acquire one of each of the type ampersands used in the legend of Ships Colonies & Commerce
There were bar, round knob, cut knob, and club knob ampersands.
So I have a round knob here but there were an awful lot of varieties of this type token that was circulating in the 1830;s around Prince Edward Island.

Now I am wondering if I have identified this one correctly.
Is there a guru out there that can help me from these images? Thanks!

My best guess is that this is Breton 997 Charleton PE10-12 ?

There is the die flaw below ship at right. (maybe)

To show differences and make this a little more interesting ..... Got this one tonight. It has the "bar" ampersand and I think it is PE10-8 Short choppy waves and humpback flag[IMG]

Have this and a duplicate of it in my collection which has the "cut knob" ampersand and I am pretty sure it is PE10-28 Blunt tail to R in Commerce

Then I have Lees No 2 PE10-2 without W&BNY having the US flag but it is bent up some but a very long time ago.

OKAY so I got the half penny token that I started this post about in the mail today. I decided to take my own images of it and there it is plain to tell that it is Charletons PE10-41B
The tell tale markers are these .... Mainly it is the only PE10-41 with Coinage alignment, it has a double H mintmark although the one on the double lines is obliterated or filled, it has the other incised one that clearly shows. If you have this it has to have the other as the other came first in the varieties. The M's in COMMERCE are offset and there's another clue about the mizzensail position.
Here are my pictures of the same coin that was shown up top.
