Melt or just below. I traded about 200 of them (the credit was put toward another coin I was buying from a collector) when silver was at $34/oz received about 8 cents below melt for each. I was happy. On ebay, it's common to buy at melt or just below.
I would pay substantially below melt because they are not nearly as liquid or in demand as 90% silver coinage.
I would stick to paying around $1 each. 35% is a very impure form of silver and you would do much better buying 90%. The refiner has a difficult time separating the silver from the manganese, and since it all comes down to the refiner, I would not pay close to melt.
I agree with PI man, I don't buy unless they are $1. A lot of dealers have them at that around my house, if they have them at all. Or you can always find them in change for $0.05.
They wholesale about $1.25 now. If you can get them at this price or less it's a steal. I believe someday there won't be such a big discount on these but it won't happen until most have been melted already.
Well I'm a collector I don't buy for melt so in the long run I guess I did just fine so Ty all for chiming in
