Chris that is where I found this DSCN3332.jpg DSCN3333.jpg DSCN3334.jpg in mint bags. Not many of these out there as the mint sold bags because the coin was never released. You won't find these in rolls as they won't stack they are spoon shaped and you can't stack them!http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/2001P50cConvexRev.htm DSCN3336.jpg DSCN3337.jpg

Yes! I remember you showing that one, Paddy, and it's very cool. I know all about the $100 Mixed P&D bags that the Mint released in 2004. That's where I found my 2001-D that is missing the reverse clad layer. There are only two known, and it cost the same as your specimen.....68c!

Nevermind thats its off center at much, but the odds that it would catch the date is amazing.

No need to apologize. You have to go back to the original post with the photo and place a "check mark" in the lower right corner to include the photo in your "Reply with Post".

    '78 clash I discovered

Here is my '78 clash that I got credit for discovering. Great topic! Jefferson's are my favorite. It is now listed on Mad Clashes as TDC-5c-1978-01. These photos are from the Mad Clashes site. They are better than mine.

Sometimes the US mint offers bags of coins for sale at their mint site....if you have a Federal Reserve Bank in your area or a branch bank you can sometimes buy a bag there..... however now a days finding a mint error in a bag is pretty slim as the new machines they have pick them out before they are bagged did you see the waffle nickel I posted well that is how the mint destroys the errors.

I understand. so how then do you go about getting the waffles? from the mint, or a sneaky someone swipes them from their job and sells them?

When I saw the reverse of your 2006P Jefferson I decided to take the plunge and try to post a picture. This is the reverse of a nickel I found the other day. The defect/error is in the same location as the one you posted. Not sure what the error is, but it's the first one I've found like it.
