I know its crazy how a nice coin can go unnoticed, nice pick up. The way i see it is a MS66 will cost you anywhere from $600 to $1200 (teletrade and heritage completed sales). An average MS65 can be had for mid $30 range how can you go wrong. Clearly bhaugh payed a toning premium but i think it was a good buy considering you can look around for some time and not find another toner like that, I love it.

Gbroke was kind enough to do some more images for me and once again I am floored with the results, his images are so organic and are as close to an in hand look as your gonna get.

I am sure why H.A +Telatrades are so High Do they have the Green CAC stickers on them:eek:???
I know Cac just added Ike's to the list.

    :devil:that could be 1 reason!!!
But 1971-P MS66+ is going to cost more than $30.00 if graded by Ngc or Pcgs !!!

I think CT needs a jello translator app, jk lol. Some have stickers some dont they are pretty rare with a population in the mid 60 or so examples graded ms66 at PCGS. There is not a 71 P that has been graded higher than MS66 with a population of 43 examples graded at PCGS. The 71-P in my pictures is a PCGS ms65 with a population in the mid 700 examples graded at PCGS, as you can see Ikes are fairly uncommon in high grade with some very high grade date and mint marks with fewer than 10 coins graded at PCGS. Average ms64 to ms60 Ikes are very common and with the exception of a few variety's will probably not be of any value any time in our life time.

With all due respect, this coin looks more like a rusted vw bug than a monstor toned coin to me.

Anyone else seeing TDO here and not the DDO that the ANACS holder lists?

:thumb:I see what your talking about but without the hole OBV+REV it could be just MD?or DDO/DDR.
post the hole coin that would be best.

  17. bhaugh

    bhaugh AKA - 1872Hokie

Definately not MD. It's already attributed by ANACS as DDO/DDR. Picked it up for it's potential to be an unattributed FS-101 since what they called DDO was actually TDO.
MD looks like an step or ledge without the serif spreading.

Took a gamble on these today and won the auction which averaged 4.30 each for 4 business and 2 proof Ike's.

The capital plastic holder should be worth a little in any case.
The photos are not great but, it does appear there is some color on several of these. I've not been able to clean up the noise enough to
say for sure, beyond dong a reverse black and white filter. Guess we will see when they arrive.
