i HAVE TO COIN THAT I NEED HELP IDENTIFIYING LOOKS LIKE THEY MIGHT BE GREEK.ONE IS FROM 1982 AND OTHER IS 84. ON THE FRONT OF COIN IT HAS A MAN WITH A TYPE OF SOCK CAP ON ON BACK IT HAS A SAIL SHIP IN CENTER WITH GREEK LETTERS ARCHED AROUND IT AND BETWEEN THE DATE OF 1982 THERE IS A NUM.1 THANK FOR HELP NEED TO KNOW VALUE PLEASE.
Your coins are indeed Greek coins woth the denomination of 1 drachme. They were issued from 1976 until 1986 and made of nickel-brass. As gxseries already stated, they are only worth a couple of cents. Just to get an idea: when Greece converted to the euro, 1 euro made 369 drachmes (368.758 to be precize).
I like the previous design. When I first saw it,in a necklace,I actually thought it was actually gold. Oh well.it's a beautiful coin anyway.
The man on the coin is Konstantinos Kanaris (KONΣTANTINOΣ ΚΑΝΑΡΗΣ). More info about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konstantinos_Kanaris
