Do you think this is a real 1890 CC Morgan Dollar. If so, what grade is it.

What has me confused is that he says it received a numeric grade, but he said it was cleaned. I know that NGC & PCGS wouldn't do this, so what grading service did he use? ANACS?

im pretty sure I read another thread of the ops that said that the TPG attributed a VAM# outside of the top 190 VAMS, so I'm going to assume ANACS. They assign both a numerical grade and details when slabbing problem coins... They also attribute ANY VAM, even if it is a discovery coin. So I say ANACS, and also, if the coin is in transit, you still have access to the grade on their website, including cert# for verification.

 

ANACS does just as good as ANY other top-4 TPG when it comes to authenticity. They have some of the most respected Morgan Dollars specialists in the game. No doubt that if it slabbed in ANACS plastic; it's at the very least... Genuine
