Thanks for the heads up. I caught the show yesterday. I thought it was pretty interesting. So, when they oil the edges of the planchets to make proof coins, I guess that oil stays on the coin, huh? It also said that after the proof coins are made, about 1 out of every 7 still gets rejected. I thought that was interesting.
That is done when the planchets go through the upsetting process to put a rim on them - they are washed afterwards.
