    Jeff,

I have been buying coins at WSCoin for years. They have been in business for well over twenty years in Marysville, California and on the web for almost 10 years. They were one of the first coin shops to do business on the internet. I have never had a problem with any of the coins that I have bought from them. Thier coins have always been accurately graded.

Anytime that I have a question I all have do is email or phone it in. They are always happy to send an image of any coin that I have a question about. Their shipping has always been reasonable and quick. If you subscribe to the newsletter that they send out every week you can even get free shipping. They have all of their raw Morgans priced at dealer ask on the Grey Sheet. Most Dealers use CoinValues to price their coins. Dealer ask is what most dealers would pay another dealer for coins. I have never received a coin that was cleaned, uinless it was stated in the description. Michelle at WSCoin told me that they never clean coins, but sometimes they buy them that way, and the price is adjusted accordingly.

A word of advice, watch out for Ebay. There are a lot of people that will take advantage of you and the are just waiting for new victims. Never buy anything from a TV show. Beware certified coins that don't come from PCGS, NGC or ANACS. Be very careful of any other grading services. I have seen coins that have been slabbed as MS69 and MS70 that shouldn't have graded higher than MS64 or MS65.

I came here to get some impartial feedback on what a trusted friend recommended. When everyone literally started saying that my friend is getting ripped off and that I would be foolish to follow his advice, I needed to research it to see if there was substance to these claims.

As for the "one coin," the 1932-S Quarter that Speedy said usually sells for under $300, he did not specify a grade. Wscoin has one graded as "Good" for $139.05 (Non-member) and $135.00 (Member).

American Numismatic Rarities has it in an MS-64 (PCGS) for $2,500.00.

Harlan J. Berk has a "VF20, Old cleaning" (unslabbed) for $195.

Wscoin has the 1932-S Quarter in a "VF" grade for $175.10 (Non-member) and $170.00 (Member).

Comparing the Harlan J. Berk price with the wscoin price on this "one coin" seems to indicate that it is clearly NOT a case where "wscoins are overpriced." (Speedy did not cite any other examples, but he did say, "Since WScoins are 'underpriced' it makes me wonder . . .")

Can anyone show me a website that has an AU58 that is less than wscoin?

I'd really like to see some substance that a personal and trusted friend is getting ripped off and that I would be foolish to follow his advice. So far, those claims are totally unsubstantiated.

I LOVE Teletrade. I've had great customer service, all coins/currency auctioned are graded and slabbed by reputible services. Its definately worth a try. Welcome to the hobby!

Alrighty----Heritage auction company has some some 1932-S quarters in AU58 for $207.00 and $253.00 and 218.00---now one thing you need to understand about this grade---AU58 is right there next to MS60 and sometimes a person will pay about $100 more for an AU58 and then he sends it to grading companies again and again and again untill he gets the MS60 grade---they also sold on that was really nice for $345...and I have no doubt that it is now in an MS slab...There is a 1932-S on ebay right now in AU58 and it sits right over $200---

Maybe I'm nuts---but most of the guys on this forum have been collecting for a good long time---some as long as 50 years---I'm a newer collector---and I know these guys well enough to know that if they tell you something that its true---we have all been ripped off and we have all found what dealers can be trusted--and when someone comes along as ask for help we try to give them the names of dealers that we KNOW are good and that we KNOW aren't going to rip you off.
Now Steve said that he has been really happy with WScoins and that there has never been a problem---so I tell you what---if you find a coin on there you like and you really want it why don't you buy it and keep the grade and price to yourself---then when you get it in take photos of it (really clear photos) and let us grade it and find out what they have been selling for and then we will look at the price you paid and the price that we have found---an the grade you bought it as and the grade that we grade it---some of the members here work at PCGS and at Heritage---so they aren't going to be really bad graders.... ;)
I wish you the best---and I hope that wscoins works out for you---it just really doesn't look like a good deal---I do not own or own stock in ANY coin compnay or dealer so as to what one you pick really doesn't matter to me other than the fact I hate to see anyone get bruned because I've had it happend to myself...

This quote really gets me---do they just lower the price or do they mark it cleaned online so people know that it has been cleaned before they get it---a cleaned coin would have a market value of about 50% if not more than a normal coin.

I agree with erwizard----I just got a really nice coin off Teletrade and I got it for a nice bit less than what they have been selling for---also I know that Steve said to watch out for Ebay but I just got a heck of a deal there---I won a 1945-S Quarter graded by NGC MS66 for under $30---there is one on Heritage and last time I looked it was over $88!
