There were a few low runs in that block/series... Run 4 = 128,000, Run 5 = 320,000, Run 7 = 640,000 I go to the Casino too much and found a pocket of Run 7 notes. There are few tucked in there if you can see the edges... LOL I really want a high grade example from Run 4 of course but Steve yours is Sweet! Sorry for bad pic: MEC2: Is that a lion on Alexander's back? I know its not a Tiger... but its COOL!
Nice 69, hard to beat that note... and yes that is a lion head crown, I believe Hercules was first depicted wearing it... Here's a new star pickup, not too common, in nice shape...tomorrow, a new Scotland get I think...
And tomorrow is here! Early because I have contracted my first sore throat in years and it made last night miserable... anyhow, here's anew Scotland pickup, it's an earlier version of my other Scotland note, but larger, and it maintains better engraving because of it - the reverses are very similar except for the visible watermark on this note, and the front engraving is far more detailed since it looks like they just shrank this note in an old copier machine to make the newer front. It's about an inch taller, a bit more to the more squared designs of England notes... I like it.
Here is another couple great notes I recently picked up from a board member of another forum. The 1928F $5 LT has 41 67's recorded and 4 68's. The 1963 $1 is Top pop for its number but there are 6 1963 $1 69's overall...
Head's up John, you're posting in the paper money forum... I'm sure there is a similar thread in one of the coin forums that would be a better spot to post these in. Dave
Some pick ups from Baltimore, and a fantastic Algeria note I bought as an AUNC - PMG decided to call a 66. Might be selling it for a decent profit
ill take one of each! Beautiful notes! Here are two of my wife's pick ups today, she had been sitting on a box of 2005-D Bison nickels, that became these....
Time to go back to Egypt - I picked up a little bundle of these and I hemmed and hawed about which of these 1960's 50 Piastres notes to keep, and I finally chose this one... I like the intricacy of this design and the contrast of the dark ink, I like it more then I thought I would, and the blue 25 Piastres version is on my radar as well, hope to have one soon...
MEC: I like that symmetrical bird with the shield on that note. Seems like the animals on the World notes always grab my attention... It was like Christmas in late March for me today:
What time is it where you are? Because it's just past midnight where I am, that means a new day, and a new day means a new pickup... at least on good days. Here's a note I just got in, a 1918 Greek 5 Drachma, another early ABNCo note, a more classic currency design... starting to hone on on these, they don't come up very much and alot of them are simply exorbitantly expensive. Whereas I am cheap. Like a baby bird, cheap cheap cheap... still got this in very nice condition at a good price, so no complaints...
This new arrival actually upgrades a current note, moving from a PCGS 20 PPQ to this note, I think a solid VF30, nice and clean...
Mec, now that you are upgrading, I can only assume that you have acquired every star note issued in every block known to mankind.
