Hello, This Jefferson "war nickel", the last of my recent coin show finds, is heading to my type set. Any suggestions on grade? Thanks for checking it out! -L
This was my big purchase purchase at the Baltimore show. My first 1914 PF65 Buffalo. I really like the strike and the sandy matte surfaces as well as the flat rim that would let this coin stand on end. I canvased the show on Thursday to see what would catch my eye, but I mostly saw coins being offered at multiples of PCGS price guide. We all know that guide is retail to the max and when a coin is on there for say 400 and the ask is 850 well, I can't really work with that! On Friday, I really thought I would be going home empty handed so I decided to sit down again with Andy at Angel Dee's. After careful consideration of the MP Lincoln's he had for sale, I asked to see his PF Buffalo Nickels. This one struck a chord and he offered it at a fair and bearable price, so I pulled the trigger. I will really keep my eyes pealed for others in this quality, but they will most likely come through Andy as he gets some really super coins cross his desk. Matt
That's a very nice proof Matt!! Andy is a very nice guy and I too purchase Buffs from Andy. Congrats on such a beautiful Buff!! Very, VERY nice!!....DEX
Thanks! And wouldnt you know i picked this one up from Kryptonitecomics too. What a great seller, won last night and already marked as shipped!
Well my new 1883 CC Morgan got here today and she is NICE, here is a pic of her. Not the best pic I did it with My IPhone.
Lionel, I would say it is a 64 and does not have full steps. The chatter on the jaw/cheek/collar area and that distracting mark in the left field will keep it away from a 65...maybe. A great looking war nickel though. I love the toning.
Picked up this nice proof silver dollar a few days ago, and i could not be happier with my purchase. I paid $25 including shipping for this beauty, and i think it could be worth more, but i am going to keep it.. thoughts on how i did?
Just arrived, actually it was waiting on me when I got home. Anybody care to throw out what would've been a reasonable price to pay for this coin. I think I did well, but I'm curious as to what other people would've paid.
The top one is in an old pcgs green holder that looks better than the grade assigned and the bottom one is in an old rattler. Both I like for different reasons....DEX
Couple of new additions to my collection. The second coin is so much nicer in hand, I was impressed compared to the yucky pic. Trajan (98 - 117 A.D.)
