I need a help to know this coin!!!!

    Hi...

    I have this coin.. and I think it's a British one, but I am not sure...

    Any one can help me to identify it, please?

    It's an One Shilling from 1949... Is it rare too!!???

    Hello,
    It is a coin from Great Britain. My 1997 World coin book values it at .25 cents in VF.

    Any more info about it, please... like the name of the man who his picture appear in it... and does it consider to be an old piece...

    Hello Thamer and welcome to the forum!
    The guy on the coin is King George VI who was king from 1936-1952.He was the father of the present Queen Elizabeth II.
    By coin collecting standards,1949 is not considered to be particularly old and the shillings of that year are fairly common and inexpensive to buy.
    It IS a nice looking coin though,isn't it?

    This is a British shilling with the Scottish crest. Also depicted are the St.Andreas cross and the thistle, national symbols of Scotland.
    Great-Britain also issued shillings with the crest of England.
    I depict it below.
