1954s 2-1.jpg I'm not or ever have been a copper fan but still have some in my collection. I was searching through some of my MS pennies today and found this...1954 S that seens to had the 5 struck over something ...is there any known over dates in the 1954 Lincoln cents? I have searched my Cherry pickers and cannot find anything. Thanks Paddy 1954s 2-2.jpg

I see a 1954-S, not a 1954-D. It appears to be a small die chip in the date.
    Keep up the hunt!

Nice coin, Paddy. It's not an overstrike (imo)...I'm guessing it's a die gouge. I have a 1952-s with a similar gouge. I'll post a picture if I can find it.

Perhaps there was someone working at the SF Mint in the early fifties that had the "palsy".
