    Hello Everyone,

I'm new at this, but can tell I am already hooked. I wish I had discoved coins 20 years ago. I have been trying to identify this coin for some time now with no luck. I have not seen it listed in any of the coin books or on any sites. I have attached some pictures, but if you have any questions feel free to contact me. The yellow tint showing on some ares of the coin look like gold flecks under a loop and the bright shiny spot appear to be nicks from where it may have been knocked around in the bag of coins I found it in. The coin was found in Turkey about 40 years ago when my Father-In-Law was stationed there in the military. Thanks in advance for any help,

I am not an expert and not overly familiar with this type of coin. I will say it does look similar to some early modern Papal coins from the Italian cities. These are often holded as this one is maybe you can try there see if you can find something. Others will be able to help more.

This is a commemorative medallion form the UK - celebrates the marriage on March 10th 1863 of The Prince of Wales (then known as Albert, but eventually King Edward VII) to Princess Alexandra of Schleswig Holstein.

Sadly these things are not scarce in this country, and certainly in the condition yours is in, of very little value!
