I try to make it out twice a year but have never made a coin show; and yes, the better the work the more the money.
Actually they have more metal to work with , you can always take more out but once it's out you can't put more back .
I would think those high relief nickels would have more relief area to work with than flatter modern nickels.

I went searching yahoo images for modern hobo nickels and ended up at a modern hobo nickel carvers website and found this thought it was super detailed. so I am using it as my avatar for a little while. In the near future I plan on using only my own insects coins as my avatar pic to generate interest in insects coins.
I have noticed that most Modern Hobo nickels have a black stain rubbed in. Makes the details pop out, and hides where the nickel was carved too deep.
That one looks very detailed. :thumb: The morbid horror theme ones are the ones I usually collect. Not many places on CT to post them at, not many people are interested in them. I've posted some in "Post your buffs", and some in "Creepy Coins".
