My last (Trier) came from the Bridgnorth hoard currently being dispersed but not cheaply. That hoard had 12 coins that would have done for my purpose. It also had 42 of the other hard to get one - Amiens. The rest of the mints should come easily to whoever is seeking the set. I would like to see a photo of the one Magnentius FH coin listed as being in the hoard.
Well I have gotten my 5th different mint of the FEL TEMP REPARTIO (Fallen Horseman) series. This one is from the Sirmium mint in present day Serbia. The emperor Constantius II was born there. Its ID is RIC 52. It dates from 351 - 355 AD. DN CONSTANTIVS P AVG FEL TEMP REPARTIO ASIRM
Added my 7th different mint of the "FEL TEMP REPARATIO" series. All are "Fallen Horseman." This one is from the mint in Siscia (RIC viii, 362) :smile
Well, here is the 8th coin of the "Fallen Horseman" that I have acquired. This one was minted in Lyons, France. RIC 189 Obverse - DN CONSTANTIVS PF AVG Reverse - FEL TEMP REPARATIO / GSLG
Positive John. Sorry for my poor photographic skills. I am trying to get all 14 mints of the Fallen Horseman series. (4 to go)(2 currently in transit)
Randy's coin is an Amiens. There are more common coins of Antioch that are confused with it on occasion so it is good to show a photo of this one. My question was to Ripley who quoted 14 mints when there are 15. Amiens is the most easily overlooked since that mint closed soon after.
