The show was far busier today. The weather was a bit better, but turning worse fast. joesmom showed up at the show today. Was certainly a pleasure to meet her. The large display section featured two 1913 Liberty Nickels, the 1866 No Motto Silver Dollar, the 1861 Double Eagle, Two 1804 Silver Dollars. The King of Siam set is on display at the Ira and Larry Goldberg table. Tomorrow afternoon features mmarrotta's seminar on counterfeits. Should be interesting
Forgot one more highlight of the show. The "first" (as most agree upon) 1794 Silver Dollar is also on display.
Yes! For true collectors of American coins, the show was probably the best ever. The coins you cited are each of them alone enough to make a show a success. All of them together at one time was astounding and just about everyone was thrilled. I took a picture of one of the Heritage guys oogling the 1794 Dollar. I saw the King of Siam set but not up close. I never did find the nickels but I have little respect for them. I did make time to nod to the 1861 Paquet Double Eagle because it was the subject of my first typographical error when working for Coin World: I left the S off 1861-S. It makes a difference -- and several readers (some of them Names) -- let me know in no uncertain terms. Michael
