Got this in change the other day. Notice the shading of the numbers on both sides and the lettering on the borders on both sides. Looked under magnification and this was not drawn in. Bill appears to be genuine. Anyone seen this before? Thanks! http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h51/erwizard/Coins/1dollar.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h51/erwizard/Coins/dollarRev.jpg
Probably just ink transfer from the rollers. That's about all I can explain. I have seen more detailed transfer in other articles. Sorry I can't provide sources. Bob
Can you get closer in shots? It is not likely to be offset printing (like Boston is suggesting) because it is occuring on both sides of the note and is not showing up in the "field" areas of the note on either side. Also notice on the back of the note. In the corners the "offset" printing appears on the numerals, but NOT on the written ONE. Also if it was a case of an offset printing the lettering on both sides would not be completely filled in because there would be unprinted areas from the other side that would overlap the unprinted areas on the first side.
Somebody had extra time on their hand's and colored very specific area's on each side of the note with pencil, it appear's that the color seem's to be too inconsistant to be ink transfer and doesn't look like the color's match IMO
I'll say it again. Its not pencil. Took to my dealer today. Its obviously printer ink. Thanks for the ideas guys
