Hi, I've been through every date that makes sense using Heritage examples and I can't identify this date. It's driving me a bit crazy because so much of the date is visible and so few dates are possible. Please help.

The possibilities are 1809, 1820, 1828, 1829, and 1830. I really don't think the last digit could be a 2, 3 or 6 and it looks like it's the wrong angle for a "0". The "1" doesn't match any examples I can find. If you could link to an example of what date you think it is that would help. And please describe your deductive reasoning if possible (I'm getting all Sherlock on this coin).

    Thanks,
    Dave

Even before reading your possible dates, it seemed to be 1830. But by the looks of it, could be 1630 :)

Has to be a 1820 or 1830, that last digit is clearly a 0.

I think it is more likely a "9" from the angle. The 1820s and 1830s I saw all had zeros at an angle toward the middle of the coin. That last digit looks more vertical. Don't you think?
