I recently acquired a really nice 1939 S nickel, Reverse of 1938, that has what seems to be a strongly repunched mintmark. Can't find any visual reference to confirm my opinion online; just the usual lot of uninformative and/or irrelevant websites. My Cherrypicker's guidebooks were also no help.

    Any thoughts?

The Jefferson collector needs these two books The Jefferson Nickel Analyst by Nagengast and the best of the Jefferson nickel doubled die varieties by Wexler and Ribar you'll find all sorts of answers in these two books Paddy

I think you're right 16d, but I'd sure like an image to compare my coin with.

Thanks Paddy54. I'm returning to collecting after an absence caused by circumstances, and don't have access to all the reference material that I would like.
