A couple on the bay. One has 9 bids & up to $15+. It's for reasons like this I take a break from Jeffs a couple times a year.

This type of nonsense has gone on for years. The very people who bid on and buy this kind of stuff could just as easily have spent their time researching and learning, but choose not to. As the old saying goes: a fool and his money....

The only person I feel bad for in this type of thing is the guy who someday will have to tell the buyer that their great ebay find is junk.

What would this phenomenon be considered as? I don't think it's a form of doubling..

Its die deterioration doubling and is quite common if you look at enough coins.

The most famous, is the 1955 Poor Man's Doubled Die which many folks threw their money away on as well.

Yep, this looks like a good example of the modern "poor man's doubled die). Just die deterioration doubling as noted. Too bad people sell these on ebay as actual doubled dies.

No idea. Just thought you cent searchers may want a heads-up. I get maybe 4-5 of these '11Ds per box.
They have been heavily hawked on the bay as double-dies. I've seen them go for $15.
I wonder what a roll would go for?

Looks like machine doubling to me. An artifact of old and/or poorly seated dies.
