This isnt my coin, it is on eBay and I'm thinking about pruchases it? I'd like to get some opinions on it. What do you think is a fair price?
1819 lg 9 I would pay no more than $100 for it ...not alot of details left on it for my liking ...however that's my take on it as I'm not looking to make the purchase...... if you just want a hole filler go for it
bust quarters almost always seem to be out of the book. grey sheet is vg=90 fine=175. on ebay odds are you will get nowhere near these prices though. and nice coins always demand a nice premium. i have found that you can get better prices when somebody is doing a regular auction then a buy it now, and the buy it now they are asking is rather hefty. do all of the coins of this year have what looks like repunched 5 on the reverse?
Yeah, I thought the number was really high, but I do like the coin. For any one who wants to know it grades PCGS VG10 CAC.
IIRC, this is a B-3 which is an R-1 (common). I assume you mean not out of the book, or CDN in this case?
i did mean "out" of the book. it is a line i have picked up working at car dealerships. real world value is higher then a price guide
I like it a lot. The coin is beautiful and far nicer than you will typically encounter. A quick glance at recent auction archives shows VG8 and VG10 graded examples of the Small 9 selling from $180 through $230. That looks like a fair range, but a coin this choice might have to go a little higher.
I noticed the price, too. The seller is a good guy and I know him and his photographer and am familiar with his inventory. However, at least with a coin like this you can wait for another to pop up somewhere and you may be able to save a few dollars.
