grading a coin

    i'm new to this. What does it cost to get a coin graded? Where do you get it done? At a coin dealer? If so is ther one close to Muscatine Iowa? Thanks for any help you can give.

    depends on the coin but usually it is at least $20. Either pcgs or ngc. look for authorised coin dealers who take submissions from their website but i would suggest you spend a few days and read the forum to go through the stuff already posted using the search tool.

    You are new. Therefore, do not waste money on getting coins graded until you have learned much more. Good luck, read and ask questions.

    Good advice Tom. I agree, don't submit coins until you get a bit more experience, as you might lose money in the process.

    Quad city coin up in Bettendorf is not to far away. I have dealt with them at shows only but seem to have a good selection and seem reasonable. But you may have to decide that by yourself if you visit them
