I was at a local flea market today and was looking through some coins a man had and bought a few because they were cheap. When I got back I noticed that one INB CERTIFIED 1976-D WASHINGTON 25¢ MS 70 quarter was actually a 1976 S. I was just wondering what the value might be.
Are homemade slabs even considered as a TPG? This is just someone sitting at home with the generic self slabbing holders and the tag printing wizard kit as seen here. See, same green color and similar labels, this is just someone trying to make more money off of unsuspecting buyers http://www.jpscorner.com/coin-slabs.html
In fact, I use the same exact holders for my 'nicer' coins. Makes them look nice and professional anyway
I forgot to put that it is a proof coin. I looked on ebay and saw there were several other coins listed from INB (most not selling of course). I paid 75¢ for it. Pics do not show it but it is a very nice coin.
That is a snap together holder so this would not be considered a certified coin. You paid a fair price.
Hey for 75 cents not bad as the holder alone would cost more than that. I use that holder for my coins that I don't send to PCGS
The slab pictured are called Coin World Slabs sold by Amos. They are not Sealed unless INB actually sealed the slab. They have absolutely NO TPG value as the grading is not done by a professional group of numismatists and there is absolutely NO warranty or guarantee on the grade goiven the coin. As such, the coin in the OP has a true value of 25 cents as Doug pointed out.
