Hi All, Here is a link to a Jefferson Nickel Article I came across so I could learn more about this coin and what dates to collect. http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art25139.asp It really was informative to say the least even though some of the material I knew from reading posts here on CT. John
Hello John Hutch, I just noticed a few of your threads that I had not seen before. Do you have a Jeffereson Nickel album that you are filling? In the past I have filled the Whitman 3-fold albums. I recently purchased this Whitman folder in a bulk lot. It is almost completely empty (except for the difficult Jefferson dates). It includes the 39D, 38S, 39D, 39S, a 42D and the 50D. Those are the coins you will probably not find by roll searching.
I always tell a new Jefferson collector go for the 1994 and 1997 Matte finished coins while they are still easy to find and a reasonable price. Yes they are not regular strikes however the mintages are very low and if you get hooked on Jeff's you will want these for your collection. I know others do not subribe to this thought process ...just heck the mintages as the 94 special 167703 and the 1997 Special is only 25000! a word to the wise....
