the shield on the rev should have down lines... send it to pcgs.. its worth letting them have a look..

 

Thanks. Not sure if it just a bad picture. Looks like there might be some down line on the shield. Hard to tell.

 

I looks like it may have been cleaned at some point...

 

The stripes are there on the shield. I have to say it does look "hinky" to me. I thought the date style was wrong but I looked at some others and it does appear to be correct. I don't know, it is just giving me some bad vibes. Could be the photography though.

Thanks Conder. I paid 89 bucks. Looks at least XF maybe AU if it real. It hasn't been shipped yet. Might cancel the purchase if we know for sure it is fake.

 

Personally I wouldn't touch it. Also if it's real, it looks cleaned.

 

Just spoke to the seller. Can get my money back if I don't like it. They took the picture with a cellphone. We will see soon.

 

Okay...liberty's face looks like the side profile of Paul Newman. I wouldn't pay the value of salad dressing for that coin, too funny looking.

 

id over paid way more on way worse.. trust me, even if u find it fake return it paypal gives u 45days for a claim

 

I will check it out and if I don't like it will send it back for a refund. Leaning on it being fake now also. That is what you get with seeing the auction with 3 minutes left. Oh well.

 

With the cleaning/polishing It would grade XF details...too bad its a fake.

 

If it's not a fake it's been pretty badly cleaned/polished. I personally wouldn't touch that one with a 10 foot pole.

 

Would like to see a picture of the 'coin in hand' Craig. Might be a coup.......

 

The thing is mangled on the obverse too. Look at the denticles change all the way around, the 4 or 5 rim dings, and that hit at 3 oclock.

 

Still, the jury is out till Craig posts some pics......

 

For sure. I don't mean to pick on the coin. Just pointing out the issues with it. It has XF detail, but with all the damage to it, even VF money is way too much.
