The thread got closed due to in-fighting, but some wondered with me as to a premium for the toning on this coin. It sold last night as a buy-it-now for $200, 5 hours after I listed it. I paid $133, so after fees and shipping I made about $45 over greysheet (which is $135). Who knows... if I had auctioned it, it could have gone for more or much less, but maybe this will give us a better idea of potential toning premiums on comparable coins. ds.jpg sd.jpg

I would congratulate you as well.

Like i said in the other thread, if it were almost any other date it might have been more. Its a function of how many exist, and in my experience this date has prettier coins than average.

I wonder if coindexter bought it?

Was a fine, fast, and, fair profit, sir. Congrats. If only all sales were so easy and painless.

As for the premium, I am not at all surprised by the outcome. I looked at the other 13-P TyI coins in both NGC and PCGS 65 presently available on ebay, and thought that since there appeared to be no others with comparable or better color; this one would do quite well. Had you listed in an auction format, it is possible that you would have gotten more, but there is no reason to second guess your decision. After all, it is in NGC plastic, a common date, and not a truly exceptional example, so you received what I believe to be a reasonable retail price, even after expenses.

    Hello C-B-D,

I didn't see the other thread. Also, I don't surf the Internet looking for coins as much as I would like.

It appears to me like the kind of coin that would catch my eye. If I had run-across the depicted coin at a show, I probably would have asked for a quote & paid upwards of $200. Of course, I'm glad for you that you made money on the coin.
