forgive me but I just need to ask...do you think that the back right leg is the one that defines the 3 or 3 1/2 legged Buffalo? Because the coin in the original post does show some separation in that leg...BUT that is not the leg that defines the variety.

Let's not try insulting now...the point of this thread (and my main objective) is to educate. That's what posting a coin and asking for an opinion is about, right? Otherwise we are getting nowhere. (We are probably going nowhere anyway, but it was worth a shot)

Buffalo nickel is One Easy Die variety that Can be seen without
a lop .
Matt + Jack answer 2 pages back. I am Not a Expert .
When that word is used 98% of the bad answer you will get are Wrong !

 

Simon, this pic is what has kept me in this thing. If you look at the back front leg(on the right pic) you will see that the leg is there but the ankle ,right above the hoof is smaller around, than the pic on the left. That is why I am saying that some of these 36 d's look like this.(The pic on the right)

 

GO to buffalonickelinfo.com and the first pic you see is a nice picture of what I am saying. 4 legs with a partial chunk out of the front back leg. You will also be able to see the fifth leg (ghost leg) behind the front outside leg.

The coin in post #23 is not what I would expect to see in an over polished die. The area where the divce has been removed appears to be on the same elevation as the fields of the coin.

 

Well my coin feels very important after causing such controvery and ill will. Not that I had any offers, even low ballers.

Yes, that was somewhat distracting from the point. I think you are outnumbered frankstony but a good fight it was. Looks like it will be consigned to the change jar then.

 

The number of legs is not the issue. And of course I do not have the coin in hand. But what I see in that image is not what I would expect to see from an overpolished die.

 

And that is well and good because such are not allowed outside of the advertisement section and would attract unwanted attention to both sides
