63 is being pretty conservative,I put it at a decent 64 minimum, the PL I believe was accurate as it's right on the edge but a nice beautiful Morgan nonetheless otherwise.
Me neither.........deserves a higher note. Judging by the photogs I'd almost say this was a proof coin.
This is a 63PL yours is considerably nicer... I have to insist yours is undergraded betcha she could get a gold cac bean
The photos don't really show the surfaces. They show the frostiness of the devices. After looking over some of the examples on Coinfacts. It would be cool to see a photo from this point of view. https://coins.ha.com/itm/morgan-dol...4-3812.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515
I could accept a 64 grade but that’s a nice DMPL. It really stands out. Makes me wonder what PCGS would have said. That sure is a big price difference.
Did you send this in for grading or did you buy it in it's current holder and grade? I'm very curious, because this is the type of coin I hunt for at coin shows. Coins that are on the line for the big price jump. I feel like the TPG's want the submitter to send it in multiple times to get the grade it deserves, coins like this reinforce that feeling. Regardless, it's in a holder that does not justly represent the coin. I think the coin is a beauty and would be a keeper for me.
I bought it in the holder, just as it is. I,too, search for coins that seem obviously under graded. I am contemplating sending it to PCGS with a minimum grade 64 specified, and see if they bite. I am curious if it would come back as DMPL.
