    Cathaginem and delendam aren't latin words according to the Uni of Notre Dame

    BTW, who knows a bit about 250-200 BC Roman Republican bronzes... I'm kinda lost on this one coin I'm bidding on (It's a great coin... great foil for a Carthage Bronze!

    I think The Celator ran an article on coins of Scipio a few years back. I'll have to find the article to be sure but weren't they conjectured? I guess it's like Spanish coins said to depict Hannibal. Don you have any more info on your above piece? People are generally interested in Scipio. Any info on the price also?

    That's a great coin of Carthage, Wildwinds! I guess I can contribute a similar coin that was minted in the same century by neighbors to the East. Phillip II of Macedon, 382–336 BC, the father of Alexander the Great.

    I bought a pair of coins along with this one a little bit ago... the theme was Rome's Greatest Enemies... Itself, Carthage and Alexander the Great of Macedon :D

    Now, I'm looking at a nice Roman Republican, Second Punic War time period, when Hannibal was in Italy itself!
