Bicentenntial Quarter - Error?

    I was looking at a few quarters in my car today and noticed one was a bicentennial so I took a closer look at it. I noticed what looked like something hanging off the F in OF.

    Is it an error? If so what kind?

    I think it's called "a normal lowercase F". ;) Seriously, compare it to some others and you will see the letter looks the same way.

    You're right. I never noticed it before. To me, it looks strange for a lower case f, that's why I thought it may have been an error. I didn't bother to look at any others.
