Found this in my coin jar. Just curious as to what caused it!:)

I'm no expert on canadian coins, but maybe a lamination error? Does anyone know if that is an error that can occur on canadian coins?

I'm no expert, either...but that's what it looks like to me, also...lamination planchet error prior to strike.

Is there any marks that transferred to the obverse?

nice find, and old date canadian, definitly worth keeping and is a good specimen, as a coin and an error.

    Thanks for the help guys!
There are no marks on the Obverse. It's strange, when I was sorting coins I didn't even notice this error. And it's SO obvious! Not sure how I passed this one up.
