1942 Nickel DDO

    Im sorry, I see a little doubling on his nose, but thats flat like and most likely is MD. Keep looking, and its worth keeping since its 1942.

    A coin of this date, composition, and condition carries little if any premium, so is only worth keeping if the OP, for whatever reason, wishes to do so. As for the profile doubling, I believe it to be SD and not of any added value.

    Looks mainly like machine doubling, may be a touch of die deterioration doubling as well based on what I think might be flow lines around the rim. The important thing is to recognize that this is not hub doubling. You want to be looking for split serifs and full, raised doubling that adds to the design rather than "takes away" from it.
