It's an authentic double clip. Fadeout of the design rim as it approaches each clip is a good sign of authenticity. There's also modest metal flow in the letters bordering the clips.
I would agree, (though my opinion is nothing compared to Mikediamond's). Seeing the edge, knowing how the metal would have flowed if it was authentic, leads me to believe it is a genuine piece. Cool piece. Its hard to believe something like that got through QA at the mint, and didn't get screened out at banks.
Not a windfall, but def a keeper. If your looking to unload it, throw it on B/S/T & get sumpin you like. I'm not into 25c pieces, but high on the coolness scale.
