    Can use some insight on how rare is a 1990P Kennedy Half dollar page turn coin? I recently got a box to sort thru and just found it. Didn't know what it was exactly and put it on error coins . Did a mirror picture to show it better. 20230118_122050.jpg 20230118_121921.jpg

    It is a nice 180 degree rotation. Mint tolerance is around 20 degrees or so, interest really starts at 90 degrees. I don't think there is any such listings for such so maybe look at sold items of similar description on e-bay

    As stated in your other thread.. I still think it's a magicians coin that has been machined.
    Any luck separating the obverse shell from the other half?

    Good morning, I did the mason jar for a while with no signs of separation. I must say I found it a little disturbing shaking the half around "trying" to shake it apart but I agree ithe rim does not look normal. A question I have is I got this in a box from my bank, when I turn them back in, should I alert the bank or just put it in my 'collection" as an example. Thanks.

    If you’re into it for 50 cents, why not just save it?

    NO to return. YES to keep!

    The bank would probably laugh that you have 1 coin that you found an issue with. They don't care.

    It could also be a Kennedy half that was machined so as to turn the reverse to make it a medalic alignment to mimic a rotated reverse error. It could of been glued after the alteration. Only one way to find out. Sending it to a third party grader to have it attributed.

    That was my thought when you said it was machined, that someone was trying to "make a rotated coin'. Must say it is a pretty good one from my view, Thanks Paddyman98 for your suggestions. I haven't been finding anything in the very few coin I have gotton lately, so when gifted a box of halves at Christmas was excited to find this one as you can imagine as a novice coin searcher. You have alway's responded to my post with good info.

    Also, what does it cost to get it attributed? How do I start that process?

    HI, You will probably get more members suggesting the big 3, but for coins that get mixed reviews and have new collectors, I recommend ICG
    https://www.icgcoin.com/

    and print ATTEN: INSIDER when you send them in .He is ( in my opinion , one of the best ( and much less expensive) with Questionable coins than PCGS and NCG, etc.
    AND this Forum's members can get it even less expensive. I had recently asked and this was his reply;

    " Unfortunately - now $12 but now a $3 savings per coin. Return Postage went up to $25 for 1-10 coins and $30 for 11-20 coins."

    I suggest maybe waiting until you have 10 coins to send.

    When I was previously a moderator, he and I had a few conflicts on his "postings", but his expertise on examination of the coins I sent were very strong, but we both still had some conflicting opinions, but that is not unusual in the coin groups.

    Thanks for advice, I checked out ICG. I have decided to just keep the coin as an example. After checking it under a microscope further, we could see the cut rim all the way around much clearer. But have other coins I may send in at some point. appreciate your help.
