I was looking for some small gold and I came across this 2010 W ASE at a local cash for gold place. Only paid $31 for it and its a BU proof.

Also bought my first AGE, its only a 1/10 oz, but I have been wanting one for a while now.

Nice one, rocky! You ought to look in the wrong places more often. :)

I go there because they sell gold coins for only 5% over melt regardless of denomination, however they sell so face I can never get one there, but they always have ASG's and this was in the generic bin in an air-tite already. They sell any ASE or ML for $3 over spot there and generics for $2 over spot.

Probably because they got them way under melt from collectors who found themselves in dire financial circumstances. We've got a few pawn shops like that around here - where almost everything goes for melt because they're making a profit anyway.

That's exactly what it is. They buy low and sell low and do it for quick turn around.

It can be only one or the other, either a BU or a Proof.

    Not both.

    In this instance, a proof.
