Hi all, I posted this one yesterday, am reposting because I am very curious as to severity or rarity? It is the most severe Clash to a Dime that I have seen, what ya guys think?
This is, without a doubt, a die clash. Check out maddieclashes.com/dimes.html. If you scroll down to the Roosevelts, you will see an overlay that shows how they look. Mad Clashes doesn't have a listing for a 1993-P. If there is any clashing on the reverse you could send it to them and they will list it and give you credit for discovering it. I discovered a 1978-P Nickel. Great find!!
Great find!! There is evidence of a clash event on the reverse also. Great find!! As far as value, I do not have a clue. But, for a very small fee, you can have it attributed by Robert (BJ) Neff. He will put it on Mad Clashes and give you credit for discovering it. PM me if you can't find his info on one of those pages and I will help you out. I don't really care how much they are worth. I think they are super cool errors.
One key point that I will mention is that I am no sure if this is a MAD (misaligned die) clash or a regular one. I can't speak for Mr. Neff, but they don't list every single clash normal clash that is submitted, or else there would be hundreds of listings. Send him a PM and see where it goes. Hopefully this one is listable.
You are correct. I found a couple more clashes that were not listable. They have to have a clash event on both sides. I don't know about misaligned either. But they do list typical and atypical clashes also. As long as it is a good enough clash and on both sides.
Open you .jpeg file with the "paint" program. You can then use the line tool and draw an arrow. Then just save it.
Not exactly a "rare" error, but nothing about it is "typical" either. No error is "typical". If they were typical, they wouldn't be worth squat.
If two different sets of dies are in the same orientation and alignment and they both clash, the result will be very typical.
