I recently purchased in a auction for just under $250 a 1880 Morgan Silver Dollar. How did I do value wise and is this coin something someone would be interested in trading eagles or bars for?

Very nice coin. The 1880-S Morgan Dollar is pretty common in high grade. I checked the price guide on the NGC site and they say $288 in that grade. Checked the Ebay completed listings and prices range from 192 to 344 so you are in the ball park. Hope this helps.

Why did you buy in the first place if you really wanted ASE's ?

And I think offers to "buy, sell or trade" aren't allowed in threads.

You paid just a tad under full retail value...

So if you desire to sell the coin (or trade it for ASEs) through eBay or some sort of classifieds listing, you can probably break even (or get an equal value in ASEs).

Now if your intention is to take it someone who is in the resale business, only expect an 85%-90% return on what you paid.
