I HAVE THIS MEDIEVAL SILVER COIN THAT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY IT ID 18MM, 2.0GR. CNA ANYONE HELP I WAS TOLD IT MIGHT BE FROM SPAIN :help!A:
There are so many new ancient collectors on the forum now, I'm surprised no one could ID this for you yet. Where did you get the coin from? have you considered that this might be a modern tourist fake?
One thing, It isn't ancient. It has very, very strange style, making me thing (badly made) modern fake... but I don't know the type/ country so I'm not sure.. edit: The more that I look at it the more I think that it is a modern fake...
Testing for silver content will not, in and of itself, verify it's authenticity, but it can rule it out if there is no silver. Have you tested it?
Wow DCH that's good work! :thumb: This is way out of my area of collecting, but I was still trying to look online. Do you have a link to the info or is this in a book?

I actually looked at some of these same images, but did not put it together. The OP's example is struck off center, or worn at the bottom for some reason?
