Ok so found this cent this morning while searching. It appears to me to be an off center strike that has been struck twice or something. Really don't know would appreciate some info. Thanks! Dusty
An off center strike involves both sides of the coin. Yours was struck by a misaligned die. In order to carry a premium, some of the devices would have to be effected by the misalignment. I can't see evidence of doubling. Perhaps better photos would help.
Ya I don't see any doubling. I sure do appreciate your help though. Guess I will just put in the back page of the dansco. Thanks again. Dusty
I'd hold onto it. Nice reference example & you dont find them often. Good to have if you're ever asked the same ?. Rather than trying to explain, you have the real deal.
Right. You keep these as reference material until you understand them, then you pitch them. That's how you learn. It's just a misaligned die, as the others have said.
He's got the pics. Doesn't need the coin still. I guess it's a personal preference. Small errors and varieties tend to bore me, and I don't collect them. Again, just my own preference, and I do understand how people enjoy them.
