    Hey guys,

This coin seems to have doubling on the 7and 2... Seems different than the pictures in seeing of other 72 doubles.. Let me know what you think! Thanks'

that is a great looking coin..it is doubled and also has a major die crack or cud running thru the part in lincolns hair

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

The "major die crack or cud" is actually rolling machine damage. Notice that it is a circular gouge and that it matches the circular gouge across Lincoln's jacket. The doubling looks to me like machine doubling as it is flat and shelf-like. The letters and numbers have been flattened by some kind of impact. IMO, put it back into the wild.

A cud is caused by a broken die causing the metal to rise into the break and always includes the edge of the coin. A die crack will always show a rise in the coin, too.
