I came across this 1832 Capped Bust Half and I am wondering what people's thoughts are. Is this coin legit? Is it a fake, or is it real? If it is real is it obvious it has been cleaned recently? Any thoughts. Much thanks $T2eC16ZHJF0E9nmFSvJ1BRI(V4VwtQ~~60_57.JPG $(KGrHqVHJEoFERY7qmcIBRI(WYiCE!~~60_57.JPG

Looks legit to me. About in AU. And yes, like 99.9% of this series, it has been cleaned. You won't find many, if any, that haven't been cleaned at some point.

i have seen silver dollars that were dipped in something that simulated luster. i have a feeling this coin had the same thing done to it or it's just a weak strike

It's a real AU that has been dipped and has some hairlines. Many folks like this look quite a bit, but I find that it is fairly distracting to see silver coinage of this age without any appreciable toning.

Like Tom and Cole pointed out, looks like a real one. These are commonly cleaned and/or whizzed at some point. It's so difficult to source an original skinned example that hasn't already been slabbed.
