I have a 1977 Eisenhower Dollar that is missing the reverse clad layer completely. I tried to find examples on ebay and such but to no avail. Can someone tell me what this could be worth? Thank you, Doug

First of all, Doug, it is not a good idea to post your e-mail address where every Tom, Dick and Harriet spammer can see it.

It seems that the larger the coin, the less often that they get past the Mint QC. I found a 2001-D Kennedy missing the reverse clad layer in a Mint bag in 2004. There was only one other of these found, and it sold raw for $555.

Can you post photos of your Ike?

Chris: I took off my email as you suggested. I also took photos of the IKE but I don't know how to import them to my new computer that has windows 8. I can tell you this. It looks identical to the reverse of the .50 photo you sent me except it is the reverse of the IKE dollar. I also have four Presidential Dollars that are missing the gold plating. I got these from my bank. I wonder if these have much value. I also have a 1857 Flying Eagle that has doubling on the date, doubling on the top part of AMERICA, a broken wingtip, legs of the a and the M are attached. Thinking about sending this one to NGC for certification when I can afford to {my social security ck only goes so far}. Appreciate your help. Doug

I still see your e-mail address in your first post. Did you use the "Edit" function in that post?

Most of the people here use a host program like Photobucket to import their photos. Since my photos are maintained on my computer, I'm not familiar with how it works.

The Prez dollars are a copper core with outer layers of manganese, zinc and nickel. Again, photos would be helpful.

There are at least five DDO's for the 1857 FEC, so again, photos would be helpful.

You don't have to tell me about Social Insecurity. I live from check to check.

at the bottom of the reply box, click Go Advanced. Then type your text, scroll down and you will see Manage Attatchments. If the photos are too big to upload as they are, you may need to crop out the background. That should help :) welcome to CT!
