I bought this graded MS63 and sent it in to PCGS for the variety to be added to the holder. Not only is this the highest graded f.e. cent I've ever owned, but it's the Obverse of 1856 variety, where the letter hub from the 1856 date (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) was utilized on this 1857 beauty!
That's one nice 63 , I've been looking for a nice FEC for awhile , but really don't want to spend 64 money for one , but most 63s just aren't that nice , yours sure is , congrats on a well struck good looking 63 .
Thanks everyone. I showed it to a dealer yesterday and he couldn't stop complaining about the spot above the eagle and the lamination error in front of the beak. He went on and on about what a common variety it was... couldn't stop complaining. I just smiled and said "thanks!" I got it for 800, then spend 60 sending it in for the variety attribution. Feels like I stole it at that price.
