Does any one know what this one is worth? I don't know if it is a DDO or not.

I agree the coin is a nice XF/AU anyways... But the doubling is nothing.

    Based on what?

I find these in same condition in B&M bargain bins for $1.50.

It's a common date, and there's no doubling that I can see.

I know 1916 is the most common date in the teens, but I sure as heck never see such higher grade coins from the teens for $1.50. If you do sir I will gladly pay you $2 plus postage for any you wish to sell. :) If you are talking about a decent F coin, yeah I could see that one for sale for $1.50.

Btw, of course its not THE DD. Op, look in the Redbook, the DD is quite dramatic, you can see it all the way down to a g/vg coin. If anything, yours looks like mechanical doubling.

Uhmm higher grade than this one would be MS, and to that I agree there would be no MS 1916 Buffalo for what I said I find the XF raw ones for in bargain bins.

I said "such higher grade" meaning this coin is higher grade that typically seen. If you see 1916 XF or higher for $1.50 buy them. I am good for it. :)

I've found XF raw for the $1.50.

AU + would be up around $7-$12.50, raw.

Of course the slabbed ones would be higher.

FYI, by the time each edition of Red Book hits the shelves, the prices are already outdated.

My pricing source are completed sales on eBay, Heritage, and TT.

Raw, up to XF, same date as OP's, $1.50-$2 in BM bargain bins.

I'm not the only one saying your value is off others are also. Plus in G4 red book has it listed at 6 dollars and this is defiantly higher grade than G4. I highly doubt the value for this coin have changed by over 10 dollars since the 2012 red book was released.

Just checked eBay I didn't see any for a 1.50.

As I said before.....Red Book prices are outdated by the time each edition hits the shelves. They're written at least 6 months prior to publication. I don't know any dealer who relies on Red Book prices. The majority of them use CDN.

I know what others are saying, I can read English exceptionally well. What I'm saying is, up to XF, can be found in B&M bargain bins for the prices I've stated.

    Enjoy!

FYI, I'm not in this hobby to turn a buck, quick or otherwise, I collect for the enjoyment. It's not a business to me, it's pleasure, nothing more.

I didn't say I was in it to make money either as you implied. I was simply stating the value for the OP. thanks and have a good night.

I'm sure you can find coins this nice in bargain bins frequently, but they'll be 1937's.

I'm also sure you can occasionally find a coin this nice and this early in a bargain bin, but it's likely a mistake on the dealer's part. I mean, I've found a nice VG 1913-P Barber half in a junk silver bin, but that's a far cry from "you can find them there any day".
