True, but love it when copper tones while one has it, especially copper nickel. I keep current copper nickel coins just to see how they tone.
They are pretty, and a good lesson, certainly for me as a non-copper collector. If one looks at Greg's first set of coins, and then the AT ones as posted, the differences are pretty obvious in terms of transitions of colors.
Talking about toning and environment. I live next to the coast with high salinity in atmosphere due to the fact that it never rains eventhough the humidity is between 60 and 80%. I bought this Susan B proof about a year ago. When I got it it looked like the second pic and now it has a deep blue toning. Less than a year. With the higher grade copper coins it is even more severe.
Sorry for jacking the tread, just wanted to show how fast something can tone. Unfortunatly, I do not have a US cent.
