I do a survey sitethat pays, very little, but it pays. About once a week they have feeder polls just for fun and to get a little more iformation on a person's outlook. Well this week is abotu should the US get rid of the Lincoln Cent. The results so far are a little surprising to me.

I'm happy, but I also enjoy my Lincoln Cent collection very very much.

Do you think the penny should be eliminated from the US currency?

Not surprising. In general people almost always cling to the status quo. If you had asked in 1967 if they should continue making the coins out of silver you would have gotten an overwhelming yes response even though every coin made cost more than the face value and was immediately hoarded. If you ran a poll you would also find that they want big cars and SUV's and gas under a dollar. Doesn't matter that the big cars are too costly, and it doesn't matter that the price of the raw material makes gass that cheap impossible. Baby wants it. Ask them if they still want it made of copper and they will say yes, even though it hasn't been for over 20 years and couldn't possibly be made of copper anymore because of the value of the metal. Doesn't matter, they will say that they want it.
