Any ideas about this copper? medieval or 1600's coin?

    It seems to be out of copper and its size is about the same of a US quarter.
    Hard to tell where is it from with so many initials and a crown!

    As always, any insights or hints are quite welcome!

    Looks like a spanish maravedis cob...16th century? Although most I have seen look far rougher than this one, barely look like coins.

    Thanks! Spain was my first guess too.

    I believe that counterstamp was only used in 1659 and valued at 4 Maravedis.
