  3. Those silver certs with the serial problems are interesting. How do you suppose that happened? Were sheets of these printed with consecutive serials, or were they nonconsecutive like modern sheets? Because if all three of them came from a single sheet, there could have been a problem with the press that gave all of them the offset 27 ending.

    Very intriguing!

    They were printed in the same position of consecutive sheets. One of the serialling heads got stuck on 27 while the other continued to count downward.

    Funnily enough I blew a couple of hours perusing through all the auction and found a mere one example of something I want an upgrade on.

    I saw a large-size Kingsville, Texas note I've been searching for, but the rust stains (paper clips) are a huge distraction.
    There are plenty of courtesy autographed notes and many error notes also.
